      Ok, so I'm trying to map my custom arcade joystick (Bluetooth keyboard, using mame default keys.)

      What's the mapping for the emulationstation controller setup to map the controls correctly.

      (i.e. up, down, left, right, start and select are easy, they map the following.

      up=up
      down=down
      left=left
      right=right
      start=1
      select=5

      But in fba - what is button 1,2,3,4,5,6 to the emulationstation mapping of a,b,x,y,l1,r1,l2,r2????

      Thanks.
      Later,
      dabone

        i don't really understand the question. you decide the mappings when you configure your controller in emulationstation. it asks you to press retropad A, and you do decide what button you want to use for A. the FBA emulator itself has a default configuration to decide what FBA button your bound retropad A function maps to. you don't need to map anything within FBA unless you don't like the defaults.

          Something that may make your life easier is running a jstest by navigating to /dev/input/ and then typing jsX where X is the controller, you may have to type in a few different things, 0, 1, 2 even.

          This will run the program that will tell you what numbers are associated with your key. You press the key and record the number, then you go plug the number into the config file and that should work.

            My question was this.
            What do to RETROARCH buttons map to inside lr-fba-next.

            I.e. A=Mame button1

            This is what I have figured out at the moment.
            RetroArch key label - Mame Button Number

            Y=1
            X=2
            L=3
            B=4
            A=5
            R=6

            So, in a game like Marvel vs Capcom, it's 1,2&3 for Punches, and 4,5&6 for kicks.
            Here's the mame mapping for standard keyboard for player one.

            input_player1_a = z
            input_player1_b = shift
            input_player1_y = ctrl
            input_player1_x = alt
            input_player1_start = num1
            input_player1_select = num5
            input_player1_l = space
            input_player1_r = x
            input_player1_left = left
            input_player1_right = right
            input_player1_up = up
            input_player1_down = down

              Is there anyway to change control mapping for just one particular game in FBA?

                @jretropie yes, in lr-fba-next: select + X to bring up the RGUI, quick menu > options > then you see all the remapping options for that game.
