      New to Retropie.
When I startup it asks me to configure my controller buttons (using an iBuffalo) but if I configure the ones I'll use and leave the rest undefined by hitting F4 I'm sent to a prompt/terminal. If I'm supposed to hit ok at the bottom, how exactly am I expected to GET to the bottom?
If I unplug it and fill them all with keyboard keys THEN I'll get the goddamn menu.
If I wanted to play games with a keyboard why would I need a Retropie?

@vulture051 If you want to skip mapping for a button, just long press an existing button - just like it says in the mapping screen. This way you can skip any buttons you don't like mapped.
F4 is a global shortcut to exit Emulationstation.

I got through it by using the keyboard and then remapping after it let me have some menus, but doing what you suggested just resulted in it saying the key is already taken and that's it. No moving onto the next.

Map the buttons you have and then hold a button or direction on any item you wish to skip. If it says already assigned, you aren't holding it long enough as it is registering a button press.

With my arcade controller, I have found you can use the dpad to skip by holding up or down alternating on each item I wish to skip.
