[SOLVED] Problems getting music to run properly in emulationstation
-
So ideally I would like to have two things working in emulationstation:
- Play music in a random order
- Always start with the same track (Playstation 1 boot up sound)
I found this method, that theoretically suited my needs:
https://github.com/Rydra/bgm-for-esBut I have a couple of problems with it:
- The music does not stop when starting DraStic (Nintendo DS), PPSSPP (Sony PSP), Amiberry (Amiga) and SDLPOP (open source Prince of persia 1 in Ports). Is there a file where I can add these emulators?
- I can't get the startsong to work. On the Github page it says:
'If you want to override these settings, you can create a file in your personal folder called .bgmconfig.ini (so, in the path ~/.bgmconfig.ini) containing [default] in the first line and override any option you want.'
So if I want to make changes to the file (add a startsong), I have to copy the bgmconfig.ini file to my personal folder and edit it there? But what is meant by 'personal folder'?
And what do I write behind 'startsong= ' ? Just the name of the mp3 file or the full path? I already tried a bunch of possibilities but nothing worked so far.
If you use another method that also has these two options, then I would really like to hear about it.
Raspberry Pi 3B
Retropie 4.3.5 (built upon a premade image 4.2)
Powersupply: 2.5 A official adapter -
I got it to work.
I used these steps instead:
http://www.pretendo.online/2017/01/25/adding-background-music-to-emulation-station/Works great! You can easily edit stuff in the bgmusic.py file , like startsong and add missing emulators to mute the sound for.
I stuck my Pi in a Playstation 1 case, so my Pi-station is pretty much done now:
