So this is my first time ever using a pi or this software. My current setup is a pi zero, 32gb san disk, Innext usb controllers, and a 5v 1 amp phone power cord.

My issue is that after a few minutes of being on my raspberry pi, or rather my retropi software will freeze. The controllers become unresponsive. Not sure if it's a software issue. Tried removing the usb spliltter, changing controllers, neither worked. So I'm unsure at this moment what could be causing it.

Any info would be greatly appropriated.

      Thanks,
      Zac

@ozzy2991 please use descriptive titles and fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

notwithstanding that, i would guess it's your power supply, which is about 2 amps short. please use a proper pi3 powersupply.

@dankcushions Sorry about that. I switched to a 5v 2 amp powersupply. The freezing only ever happens on the emulation station menus, never in an actual game emulation. I played a game for an hour no issue, back to the menu and froze. Happens multiple times. Which makes me think it is software related.

@ozzy2991 Please give more details about your setup as asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
Are you using video snaps ? Try lowering the VRAM and switch to OMXPlayer for playing the videos.

Still not enough really to be sure that's not your issue.
