I am running a Raspberry Pi3 and Retropie. All arcade games using an XARCADE TANKSTICK. I am tweaking what games work in what emulators. most games running on lr-mame2003 but a couple run on mame2016.

I have used the P1 left button and right button as indicated on the attached file (Except I have the trackball in the middle)![0_1513700515051_RetroPie-RaspberryPi_X-Arcade.jpg](Uploading 100%) . But I believe retroarch
is overwriting this and putting a "tab" button where my RT button should be. Its annoying because I keep hitting it by mistake. My escape button on my keyboard no longer works.

Any suggestions on the retroarch.cfg changes I can make to correct this for all games?

I did find some links on the escape issue and I am trying those. So far no goot. but I am still reading.

@mgrabow Are you using the Retropie image downloaded here, from RetroPie, or the image that XARCADE hosts on their website? You need to provide all of the details as required in the link above.

You need to provide more details like how you built your image, which emulators you are using, but you say "all games" which is a tall order, since we have no idea what games or what emulators you might be trying to use.

I was just stating that I am just using the tankstick and have no other controllers so "all my games" are using the tankstick.

I am using lr_mame2003 but my asteroids only works in mame2016. I could not get the xarcade image to uncompress in 7-zip so I abandoned that. I am using the retropie image downloaded here.

@mgrabow Since asteroids is a vector game, it will look a LOT better using AdvanceMAME. Check here for some information about that. You will obviously need to use the appropriate ROMset for that emulator, but it is worth it for all vector games in my opinion. Also, since AdvanceMAME is not a libretro core, you should have an easier time mapping controls without the added layer of RetroArch abstraction.

@caver01 yes i do see that the emulator choice is a huge factor, but there are a few games I can only get to work in mame2016 for example and that one throws the keyboard tab on the controller. very frustrating. i cant seem to change that in retroarch.
