      Hello dudes,

      Well I tried plugging my speakers (with battery Inside) on the 3.5 jack with retropie. Sound is good. But when I plug them on a USB port of the raspberry, the sound is awful, I can't hear a thing (white noise really loud), but it's only when plugged on the USB port (and the 3.5 jack of course).
      Do you have any idea why I've got this problem ?

      Thanks

        Is this a RetroPie specific issue or is it the Pi in general?

        If you have only tested audio through RetroPie, I would suggest you try this through the CLI or terminal window:
        sudo apt-get install gnustep-gui-runtime
        say "Testing audio"

        Do your USB speakers have a power cord option? Maybe it draws some power from your Pi when using a battery.

          but it's only when plugged on the USB port

          Definitely a lack of power. You need a proper regulated 3A supply to be sure. However, the 3.5" jack is terrible generally. No phone chargers. Anything cheap will kill audio.

            @alucard_xs in emulationstation if you go into retropie menu and into sound, is the sound set on auto or headphone. You will only get static on your usb if it is set on headphone

              Try these in your /boot/config.txt file:

               # Uncomment to help remove white noise (if needed)
               disable_audio_dither=1
               # Uncomment to completely remove white noise over 3.5mm connection
               audio_pwm_mode=2
