Issues with PowerBlock Installation
-
I have been having issues with the PowerBlock add-on in regards to installation. I have been working on getting the drivers and services properly added on to my RetroPie. However, despite going through all the command line instructions on the petrockblog site, whenever I call service --status-all, it fails to acknowledge that the PowerBlock was installed. As a result, when I try to run my pi with the board installed, it will cause a force stop.
I originally started this installation using the long method of installation located here: https://blog.petrockblock.com/2015/07/04/powerblock-another-power-switch-for-the-raspberry-pi/.
This didn't work, so I attempted the short version found in the README file. (I didn't know about this method at first.)
wget -o - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/petrockblog/PowerBlock/master/install.sh | sudo bash
However, that did not work either. The service status report showed a negative for the PowerBlock.
To preface all this, the g++-4.9 package is installed. I have verified this.
I've tried to do this several times (with reboots, as well) and none of the attempts worked properly. Has anyone had a similar situation with this as well? Let me know if any additional information is needed.
An update to my situation, as I'm testing this as I'm writing this: For some reason, I'm no longer getting a loading error when booting up. PowerBlock is still not installed properly, according to the service status report. The Emu. Station menu comes up with the board plugged in, but only when the power supply is plugged into the main pi board and not the PowerBlock. The PowerBlock is attached to the proper pins, but has no LED or toggle switch attached yet. The power block config file sets the switch to false for the time being (I adjusted that myself for now).
I am using pi3 board and RetroPie 4.3.
Thanks again for the help!
