RetroPie won't boot after update
-
I did a system update a few days ago, and now my Pi won't boot. It shows the splash screen and then reboots. It does this reboot loop a few times before finally stopping on a screen with text showing service statuses. The bottom few are:
[FAILED] Failed to start Store Sound Card State. See 'systemctl' status alsa-store.service' for details. Starting Copy rules generated while the root was ro... Starting LSB: Switch to ondemand cpu governor (unless shift key is pressed)... Starting LSB: Set preliminary keymap... [ OK ] Started Copy rules generated while the root was ro. Then it does nothing.
I don't have an SD card reader for my PC, so I'm trying to fix it without another device. I cannot ping
retropie
, so I don't think it is on the network, and I haven't previously enabled SSH, so remote access doesn't seem possible. I also don't know how to get it to boot to a command line without another device either. What can I do? -
Forgot to mention:
I have a Pi 3 with a CanaKit power supply. It's a Nokia SD card. I'm not sure which version of RetroPie it is currently running, since I can't get it running right now. -
@chrisburel related post? https://retropie.org.uk/forum/post/12078
Also possible corrupt sd. I've never used a Nokia sd, haven't had any problems with my sandisk
