      @edmaul69 I can open and close the onscreen keyboard by pressing "y" when my controller is set to vice controller. When I open the vice gui, I cannot close it again and I have to press start+select to quit the rom

        Please read all of the above. My

        input_driver = udev
        input_joypad_driver = udev

        Not sure what your controller is set as in retroarch. Not sure if this matters either.

            @edmaul69 user 1 analog to digital is set to none and I added back the line into the c64 retroarch config file. Not sure I know how to check how retroarch sees my controller.

              @quicksilver can you backup your c64 retroarch.cfg and replace everything inside it with the contents i am posting here on pastebin? this is my config. hopefully this will fix everything. if select doesnt enable the mouse when you are in a menu try other buttons.

                @edmaul69 I will work on that now. Your c64 retroarch config file has way more in it then mine does. Mine is pretty much empty except for what you told me to add.

                  @quicksilver yeah, i changed a setting when i got the new gui and it created everything. I hope you are using an ssh program of some sort to copy and pasting.

                    @edmaul69 I replaced my c64 retroarch config with yours but it didnt seem to change anything. My physical mouse still doesnt work, and pressing select (or any other button) does not enable the mouse for the gamepad.

                        @quicksilver ok i can confirm it is the update that is the problem. you dont even see a mouse cursor at all in that version and in the version i am on, it shows it even when it isnt enabled. also that update lags like crazy. can you you download the lr-vice zip i am posting here? if you open up /opt/retropie/libretrocores/ and rename the lr-vice folder. then unzip this one and copy the lr-vice folder into your libretrocores folder. you need to ftp as the user root and not user pi to be able to edit anything in the libretrocores folder.

                          @edmaul69 I will start working on this. In the mean time, is there somewhere we can report this bug?

                            @edmaul69 So i renamed my Lr-vice folder and added your Lr-vice folder to /opt/retropie/libretrocores/ but now my C64 roms do not load properly. Goes to a black screen then dumps me back to emulation station.

                              @quicksilver you need to give 0777 permissions to the new folder and all the files in it. Sorry I forgot to mention that.

                                @quicksilver or you can rename your old folder back to lr-vice and then overwrite it with this one.

                                  @edmaul69 Renamed my old folder back to lr-vice and overwrote it with yours. Games still crashes back to ES. I then went in to the properties of the folder and changed it to 0777. Still crashes to ES.

                                    @edmaul69 How do I change everything in the folder to 0777 permissions? manually one by one? or is changing the lr-vice folder to 0777 sufficient?

                                      @quicksilver if you are using winscp you can right click on the folder and go to properties and set 0777 and there is a box to check to change all files in it. Otherwise you have to do one by one.

                                          @edmaul69 Ok, so I changed the folder (and checked the box) so that everything in it is set to 0777 permissions. However the games are still not loading and are dumping me back to ES. Any other ideas?

                                            @edmaul69 ignore last post i deleted. So when you unzip the file do you have a folder called lr-vice that inside that folder has a folder called data, a file called copying and a file called vice_x64_libretro.so ? Not a folder called lr-vice inside a folder called lr-vice?
