@edmaul69 I restored my c64 retroarch.cfg back to default but it didnt help.
-
@quicksilver are you sure when you unzip it there isnt an lr-vice folder inside an lr-vice folder? It does when i unzip it. Anyhow can you delete the lr-vice folder in libretrocores, reinstall lr-vice, then overwrite it with mine without messing with permissions or anything.
-
@quicksilver also you are logging in as root to do the stuff in libretrocores correct?
-
@quicksilver also are you testing with a game that was working prior?
-
@edmaul69 I am logging in as root. When I unzip lr-vice that you gave me there is only one lr-vice folder (not one inside of another).
I initially replaced my lr-vice folder with yours. I only tried changing permissions when that didn't work. I can do what you suggest and delete that folder, reinstall lr-vice and the replace it with yours but I basically already tried that right?
-
@edmaul69 and yes I am testing a game that previously worked
-
@quicksilver with all the different things we did who knows? Can you post the c64 section in your /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg ? I want to make sure no changes were made
-
@quicksilver any chance you can tell me what the file extension is of the game you are testing and what game? If it is a zip let me know but also let me know what the file extension is of the file inside the zip? If it is zipped can you put the unzipped files on, restart emulationstation and test that file/s?
-
@edmaul69 when you say overwrite, should I just replace the contents of my lr-vice folder with yours or should I just drag the whole folder over and replace?
The games I am testing are not zipped. I have tried several different ones. And they are all games that were working before I made changes. The first one is ARAC.T64 and the other is SHINOBI.D64
Edit: I will post the contents of the file you requested shortly
-
@quicksilver drag it into the libretrocores folder. Which will overwrite the old one but maintain its permissions and stuff
-
@quicksilver when you choose a game, it says “press a button to configure” can you go into that menu and choose to start with verbose logging? And then if it crashes can you paste the log using pastebin.com so i can actually see where the issue is?
-
@edmaul69 I may have to wait on this unfortunately. Something else seems to have gotten screwed up. Emmulation station is crashing while playing different games (not c64) and giving error messages. Luckly I backed up my image last night so I think I might just revert back to it.
-
@quicksilver ok. let me know how it goes.
-
@edmaul69 So I was able to restore my retropie image and it appears that this solved the ES crashing issue (was afraid my SD card was going bad or something). However I think I may take a break from trying to get the mouse/cursor functional as I am a bit discouraged that nothing tried so far has worked. I very much appreciate all your help and you have gone above and beyond assisting me with this issue. Since it appears that the issue is not unique and is in fact a problem with the latest version of lr-vice I will wait and hope that the issue gets resolved in a future update. Do you know who/how to bring it to someones attention? Again, you have been very helpful and patient and if I could, I'd send you a six-pack!

You can start an issue at https://github.com/libretro/vice-libretro

@mediamogul Thank you!
-
@quicksilver mention that the mouse cursor doesnt even display on the screen.
-
@quicksilver i will be having a stock 4.2 + lr-vice image posted in about an hour and a half if you are interested.
-
@edmaul69 That sounds awesome! Thanks!

@edmaul69 Finally got around to trying the image you posted. Unfortunately I cant get any roms to launch using Lr-vice with your image. All I did was mount the image, expand the file system and configure my controller. Looks like Ill just have to wait until they get around to fixing it.
