XRoar Hotkeys
-
This may not be possible but I received great advice last time I posted here so thought I'd ask. :)
Recently I bought a RaspiBoy kit for my Pi Zero so I can now enjoy playing retro games wherever I go. I noticed with SNES games you can hold Start+Select to quit back to the game list but with XRoar, (which I use quite a bit), you can't.
XRoar has a number of useful keyboard shortcuts, such as Ctrl+Q to Quit or Ctrl+Shft+J to swap right and left joysticks over, and the RaspiBoy has quite a few buttons so is there a way to bind buttons to shortcuts so I don't have to reboot the Pi each time I change game?
Cheers, Steve.

@steve-bamford Hey Steve, I'm sure it can be done but I've never done it.
I had a quick look about the forum and maybe something in here will help to get you started. https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/1817/mapping-a-keyboard-key-to-the-gamepad-s/11 -
Hi @jonnykesh , thanks for the link. I'll take a read through. :)

@steve-bamford with xroar you should find that Ctrl-c quits back to Emulationstation.
Works for me anyway.....

@steve-bamford maybe I misread your question.

Hi @tashman .
Thanks for the response. :) My query is really how to quit XRoar without attaching a keyboard to the RaspiBoy?
There are plenty of free buttons but I'm not sure if they can be bound to XRoar shortcuts?
Btw. If you're wondering what a RaspiBoy is -

@steve-bamford yes, sorry my response was a bit quick! I must have skimmed over your question. It's good to see others using xroar. I use it to play the 5 games I had on the Tandy 30-odd years ago.
