Sn30 Pro not working in emulators
-
As the title states i'm having trouble when using my sn30 pro controller with retropie. I follow the steps to setup any 8bitdo controller using the many tutorials online using the d-input mode. When I get it setup I have all buttons mapped and ready to go. It works great in menus however when booting into a game it does not work. I was wondering if anyone could help me with my current predicament.

@nullvalue just did it tonight, maybe this video will help:

@herb_fargus Just tried it and it works albeit with some very noticeable input lag at some points but it still worked none the less. however I was using the switch mode and my issue with that is that I use the switch mode for my switch (obviously) but this video did help a lot. I'll try the dinput again and the macOS mode just to make sure and update you on the results.
EDIT: macOS mode gives no results at all, not even in menus and d-input works wonderfully in menus but has no inputs at all in game. I would like to use either of those two modes due to me not using them on different systems but thanks for the help so far on getting the controllers working. -
Try pairing and setting up using x-input mode. It is part of the 4.0 8BitDo firmware new features. I noticed the same thing until I did that. On my snes30 I hold the X button while powering on the device. You will want to do this mode everytime you use the device. You should only have to pair it one time though. Oh I have RetroPie 4.3.10 also at the moment, but believe you should be able to get it working as long as we are talking about a Pi SoC.

Are you sure that's part of the pro controllers though? The firmwares are different releases, my sf30 pro is at 1.23 whereas the regular controllers I think are at 4.0 I haven't looked closely enough/don't have enough different models to test

True true, thanks for clearing that up. But I did verify that the sn30 does have xinput mode. So now all you gotta do is try your gaming in that mode. To do xinput mode try switch mode or windows mode. Hope it works. Again..it works like this for my SNES30 in xinput mode, but different product same manufacturer.

Although I use xinput mode on my gaming PC i will give it a go as I can just use my duelshock 4 on my PC so i'll give it a go and update you guys on the results.
Edit: nothing in games like dinput and unlike dinput the trigger didn't work so it looks like switch mode is the only one that works however as I said I use that for my switch so is there anything else I could try or am I stuck with switch mode.
