Mame2010 Dual Sticks?

I'm trying to play Robotron 2048 and Mame2003 doesn't work so I downloaded the Mame2010 it works but the Right Stick doesn't work. So I go to WinSCP and go to otp/retropie/configs/all/ and open retroarch-core-options.cfg and I looked for Mame2010 and no luck.
Is there a way to enable the Right Stick/Dual Sticks on Mame2010?

@keithmason robotron 2048 works on mame2003 and with dual sticks, so your easiest fix would be to get a correct mame2003 romset.

@dankcushions well when I play it with Mame2003 it freezes at the FACTORY SETTINGS RESTORED screen. So that's why I am trying to play it on Mame2010

@keithmason if memory serves, if you exit it and then restart it will work fine. it absolutely does work in lr-mame2003 - i coded the dual sticks option :)
