Emulation Station List Scroll drifting?
-
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Ever since I first got my RetroPie setup and running Emulation Station I have noticed that occasionally as you exit back from the setup or are quickly scrolling laterally through the systems it will sometimes get stuck scrolling up even when no input is being pressed.
This has been the case with a wireless Xbox 360 controller as well as two different arcade unit joystick setups so I am thinking it is not a joystick drift issue. Testing with jstest never shows any values beyond zero when at rest either. Feels like something causes Emulation Station to poll the input active state then fail to poll for the inactive state.
Not a huge deal because I always just push the joystick in a direction and it clears up but wondered if others have seen this too.

Nobody else huh?

yes this happens to me on linux and the retropie. It happens with xbox360 ps3 and dragonwiseso i dont think its a controller issue . It strange when it happens though because you can scroll left and right through the different systems and its only that one system doing it/ It is random when it happens though

@alturis
Yes, this happens to me but only ever seen it on Pi Zero with cheap snes-style controllers. It's a slight annoyance but it is easily stopped. I assumed it was some quirk related to the controller. I haven't seen it with any other setup. -
i left my controllers on jstest --event /dev/input/js0 overnight and didnt get and movement accept a slight fluctuation on the ps3 analog stick but the rest where ok but still done that behavior without the ps3 controller randomly

Hey all, this happens to me as well, on Raspi 3 B+ as well as Raspi 4B. Upon tapping the button to go into any of my game list, there are many times the list would auto -scroll. And I had to move the joystick to stop it. At first I thought it was faulty joystick or controller board, I changed it to a genuine Sanwa JLF and couple controller boards, they still showing similar symptoms.
Does any one has any solution to this yet?

It seems to be triggered by diagonal stick movements, which sometimes make ES spaz out. This happens more noticeably on cheap controllers because it's easier to accidentally trigger a diagonal with cheap d-pads.

I've experienced this as well.
