I recently had to rebuild my setup and when adding the desktop environment I ran into an issue where several key programs are missing. Programs such as the Raspberry Pi Configurer (Which I was able to get back) as well as the Main Menu Editor. I could live without these, but it is bugging me that they are not there. Is there any way I can install those programs?

@g2bb The RetroPie provided image is based on Raspbian Lite, without any desktop related items, so this is not really a RetroPie question, more like a Raspbian conundrum. The menu editor seems to be the alacarte package and Raspberry Pi configurer is called rc-gui, you can install them easily with

        sudo apt-get -y install alacarte rc-gui

Thank you @mitu for the quick and, arguably, more importantly, accurate information. Too many times I have been given a solution that just leads me down a rabbit hole that never ends but this was a one-stop solution.!
