Hi all just a quick one here.
Don't suppose anyone knows a way to either filter out vertical roms or remove them from a mame collection.
My overlay collection doesn't include a vertical overlay and plus I don't play them or like them to be honest I like the old beat em ups and shooters that are all horizontal.
At the moment I use a non-merged set built from the lite dat file.
      Thanks

@robmcc83 you can do this via romlister. you load in your dat file, then tick 'horizontal only' https://www.waste.org/~winkles/ROMLister/, then generate a new dat.

Simple Arcade Multifilter can do this as well. The catver.ini includes "Vertical" in the subcategories for vertical games, allowing you to deselect those Vertical subcategories and exclude the games.

It does sound like ROMLister is more streamlined if filtering vertical games out is the only thing you want to do.

ok so it seems rom lister does not work.
When selecting horizontal only and then go, it says no roms.

@robmcc83 have you loaded the correct catver.ini etc?

It asked me for a xml file when I first launched the program so I used the mame .78 lite file that I used to create my Rom set.

Got the catver.ini but still romlister shows no roms when I go through the process of creating the xml.
Seems it's not as straight forward as I first thought.
