I downloaded the file that ClassicGMR linked above and loaded it on the SD. When it loaded it brought me to Raspbian OS. It didn't load Retropie. What am I doing wrong? Furthermore, I'm unable to start the WIFI.

@iamoasis What do you mean by "Raspbian OS"? Do you mean the Desktop?

RetroPie has no Desktop environment installed by default on the image. If you are seeing that then either you are doing something wrong or your SD card is ready for the bin.

@iamoasis You're doing it wrong - get the image from https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/16307/retropie-4-3-15-stretch-images-for-testing, it already has RetroPie installed. As for the Wifi, there's instructions on that very page on what you need to do in order to make it work.

I'm having the same problem. I have the raspberry pi 3 b+. I went through all the steps on the website and when I tried to boot up my raspberry pi there's just a rainbow screen and lightning bolt. I have no idea how to fix the problem. I'm really new at this. Can I get a step by step solution.

            Thanks.

@tj_coady7 Lightning bolt means the power supply is not providing enough power to the Pi. As for step by step solution - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/#installation has all the info you need, just replace the image from the first step (download) with the image posted in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/16307/retropie-4-3-17-stretch-images.

@tj_coady7 being stuck with lightning bolt and rainbow screen together means you dont have the stretch version of retropie installed on your card

@iamoasis did you fix the problem with your rainbow screen? If so how? I'm having the same issue.

@tj_coady7 Did you read the thread? Do you have a 3B+? If so use the correct image that @mitu linked just a few comments up.
