@groff16 Which emulator/game ? What shortcuts are you using for save/load state and what controller you have ? Please give more info about your system and problem - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

@mitu Hey i am using the the gameboy emulator it is called on the pie "Ir Gambatte" .... I was using it before on he 4.3 version and it was working great but since i update to the latest version 4.4 it's not working again.
Shortcut for save/load state is
Save - Hold Seclect + L
Load - Hold Seclect + RThe controller i am using is
Buffalo Classic USB Gamepad -
@groff16 Are you sure you're using the right shortcuts ? Save is Select + R, load is Select + L - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#default-joypad-hotkeys.
Do you get any messages at the left bottom of the screen when saving/loading ? Did you by any chance changed the permissions on the ROM folder and thepi
user is unable to save in it ? -
@mitu I didn't do nothing all .... All i did was install a fresh copy of the 4.4 yesterday and i put all my roms in place when i did that i try playing games this morning and realize that i can't save using the Hold Select and R and Hold Select and L nothing is happening.
Nothing is showing to the bottom left of the screen even when i try to.

@groff16 Does the menu shortcut (Select + X) work and brings up the RGUI ? If not, then your hotkey is mis-configured.
-
@mitu these are what working and not working below
(Select + X) Working - Quick Menu (RGUI)
(Select + B) Working - Restart
(Select + L) Not Working - Savestate
(Select + R) Not Working - Loadstate -
@groff16 Then check your input mapping again, maybe you mistakingly mapped some other keys for L and R. Does saving/loading work for other systems (NES/SNES/Arcade) ?
-
@mitu I did that while waiting on your responds ... Save/load don't work for none of the systems them ... I have the NES SNES GEN Gameboy Gameboy Advance and a few other emulators and it's not working.
-
@groff16 Are you sure the R and L should buttons are working ? I have the exact controller and have absolutely no problems with 4.4 for load/save states.
-
@mitu it working fine ... I just test SF2 for the superNES and it works so it have to be something with my hotkeys config ... I don't know why this is happening now. this is the first time this is happening since i am using the different versions.

Did you configure hardcore mode for retroachievements ?
(Worth to ask, just in case) :p -
@sano i going and check this one out sano and see ...
-
I have the same problem. I haven't changed any settings or re-mapped any commands. It was working fine, I installed 4.4 last night, and, now, hotkeys no longer work (including save states).
-
@groff16
According to rour RA profile you were in hardcore mode yesterday during this thread discussion, so it could have been the issue...
Praise my mighty stalker skills ! :)
And BTW congrats, that's an impressive RA collection.@Montecore
Obviously not the same issue, op had hotkeys working except for save states.
Just reconfigure your controller and be careful about the last configuration entry (new line for hotkey). You can open a new thread if you still encounter the issue after that, but there are plenty similar threads here to read first before doing so. -
@sano Good catch !
-
Ok guys i think i found out what happen i think i put the code below here in the wrong place for RA. Like it mess up the config file somewhere.
cheevos_username = ""
cheevos_password = ""
cheevos_enable = "true"So i did over a fresh install just now and set the RA properly and everything works now guys.
Thanks for the help from everyone @mitu and @Sano.
This is solved

All you have to do is go to the end and you will see this code below. Put in your RA username and password save and you are good to work it works fine.
cheevos_username = "groff16"
cheevos_password = "gankplankgroff81"
cheevos_enable = "true"Here are my back up config code
