i tried the invaders over at mr do seems to be working fine will take a shot for you and post it on the other github page

You mean the whole "old artwork" including both bezel and backdrops ? In that artwork all images are rotated 90 degrees.

@grant2258 could be... I just created a fresh system with Retropie 4.4.4 this morning. No other emus on it, so didnt test others. I’ll check it out more.

@grant2258 OK. Thanks. I think I finally understand what's happening.
I suppose the actual game created the game area rotated by 90 degrees right; monitor was then mounted rotated 90 degrees left; meaning it would appear correctly to the player.
Therefore the calculations for the .art file need to be done already considering the 90 right rotated game area and backdrop image (that's why the mr do artwork images are all rotated).
Will redo the coordinates calc tomorrow and create a new backdrop zip to test.

@grant2258 Moon backdrop still too squeezed horizontally in that image.
                  Real game was like this:

                  Taken from this video:

@UDb23 thats exactly whats happening on this game there was some code missing and it caused mame not to do the rotations thats been fixed now as well as the other gfx fixes

                      Understood.
One more note: my overlay expects "integer scale" game area. Original lr-mame2003 would therefore fit the central "window" of the overlay.
As said will do new coord calc tomorrow and keep you updated on results.

I made those screenshots myself using Mr. Do! artwork.

@markwkidd Yea I got the artwork working this afternoon and have been playing with Asteroids Deluxe Mr Do PNGs.

Used Microsoft photo editor and applied 'Sunscreen' 2x to darken the background. Then set the Vector intensity to 3.

Looks damn good, except when I lay the bezels on. I'm not layering correctly? Anyway, fun stuff... there's a few games that really needed the backgrounds for nostalgia's sake.

                                  Thanks for the tweaks!

Otherwise... no way to place a backdrop behind a monitor ;-)

                                          Hello,
Trying to get CD soundtrack working with mame2003-plus.
                                          For example in 'outrun'.
I've got the correct rom version in the rom folder.
I put the file outrun.zip containing all the tracks in wav format in /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003-plus/samples

But when I launch the game, I've got the warning :
[libretro WARN] [MAME 2003+] Warning: audio sample(s) not found.

                                          Any idea ?
                                          thanks.

@cacrlhungus74 Works fine for me, though I suppose I haven't updated in the past few days. I'll update my RetroPie install to make sure the problem isn't from a recent update to anything.

Example of Functional outrun.zip Sample in /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003-plus/samples.
                                            outrun.PNG

Also, wow. I can't believe I overlooked this game. Guess it got overlooked because of its input method, but it works fine with a d-pad.

Edit: Yeah, the problem is with the emulator. You'll have to wait until it is fixed.
