wonderboy for master system not working on 3b+

i have a new 3 b+, i loaded the wonder boy image from
[...deleted...]
but it doesn't work, i load the game but get only to a black screen.
other roms run properly.
on my previous 3b the same rom file worked properly.
i updated the system.
what can be the issue?

@pikgoggle while in the game you need to go into the retroarch gui. In quick menu, options i believe it is, you need to set all regions to output pal or ntsc or whatever region you use.
