      I've been trying to get the Hori Fighting Commander controller to act as a Genesis 6 button controller and after checking my edited layout in the configs/megadrive/retroach.cfg file versus what jstest gave me for the buttons on my controller and seem to have everything entered correctly but when I try to play a six button controller game the controller reacts as if I didn't add any overrides.

      I made the following for changes to move the buttons around according to what jstest showed me were the button values:
      input_player1_joypad_index = 0
      input_player1_b_btn = 1
      input_player1_a_btn = 7
      input_player1_y_btn = 0
      input_player1_x_btn = 3
      input_player1_l_btn = 2
      input_player1_r_btn = 5
      input_player1_start_btn = 9
      input_player1_select_btn = 8

      What could I have done wrong? What additional info do you need?

        After poking around a little longer I have realized that I am in fact an idiot and dropped the file in the wrong folder. This is embarrassing. That being said, this controller is pretty great for retro console gaming.
