        Answered my own question. I ended up just replacing all the omxplayer stuff with vlc commands for fullscree, no title display and then exit vlc. i also went ahead and set vlc up to not show any playback controls and to have no border. seems to work just fine. Thank you so much for making these!

          @n4tur3502 Hi! Any chance you can share what did you do to get this working with VLC on Ubuntu 18.04? I'm in the same boat here xD.

          Thanks in advance!

            Well, as @n4tur3502 did, I'm answering my own question too:

            1. sudo apt install vlc -y
            2. nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand-onstart.sh
            3. Add line:

            [[ -f /home/pi/RetroPie/videos/$1.mp4 ]] && vlc -f --no-video-title-show --play-and-exit --no-qt-name-in-title --qt-minimal-view --no-qt-bgcone "/home/pi/RetroPie/videos/$1.mp4"

                @shavecat Yeah Mame, SNES, and Genesis would be awesome!

                Separately, is there any way to make these play when you select a system in Emulation Station? The launching image video is awesome for ROMs but I am thinking as an alternative it would be cool if we could find a way for the video to play when you click on a system in a theme before going to the game list for that system. So if you are on the main list of systems on a theme and click NES, for instance, the short NES video would play and then go to all the NES games. People always amaze me on these forums of what they figure out how to do so who knows!

                    @peterpumkin Use something like youtube-dl to download them from Youtube.

                      @7heSandman WOW WOW WOW these are amazing! These loading screens have jumped my arcade up to a whole new level of cool. If you animated these yourself, my hat's off to you! Almost speechless. Few questions:

                      1. Is there a way to remove the text splash screen after the video plays?
                      2. Any chance of more intro videos like these?

                      Thanks!

                        @cyperghost Thanks a lot for sharing, I've just done it and it worked perfectly, I would only like to know if a text at the end of the videos could be removed somehow Thanks again
