Yes, cheats are available, depending on the emulator used. RetroArch is the main emulator used in a lot of systems and it supports cheats - see the doc page on how to enable and use cheats.
@mitu that makes sense, and i'm actually thinking the updates crossed over each other, making the update confuse each other, retropie and etc. I should have thought of this, but anyways, thank you for clarification, that's all I really needed to know

@obsidianspider You need a Sega Master System. It may not have been huge in the US but it was a big deal in Europe, Asia and South America. Sega's first big push into home gaming outside of Japan. Plus I like the aesthetics of it.
You also need an Atari 2600. Because Atari. And electronics with wood panelling are cool as .
