      Hey guys,

I saw in the update log that
"RetroArch updated to v1.7.1 (built with video recording support via ffmpeg on Raspbian Stretch)."

I was wondering what I need to do to enable it? I saw in Retroarch.cfg there is an option
      # Toggle between recording and not.
      # input_movie_record_toggle = o

When I enable that I get a file with the extension .srm.bsv and I am unable to play it. I'm not sure what this file actually is.

My question is do I still have to follow tutorials such as found here:
      https://retroresolution.com/2016/07/06/recording-live-gameplay-in-retropies-retroarch-emulators-natively-on-the-raspberry-pi/

or is there something built in already?

There's a thread about recording through retroarch on the forums wrote up, don't have the link off the top of my head but it's simpler than the blog you linked

That's 2 years old I just wanted to make sure it is still the best way

This is a post on screen casting:

This is the latest on recording gameplay with ffmpeg. It will more than likely be laggy.
