Buying vs building
-
I want to set up a Retropie system, but I am not sure if its better to buy one already set up, or build one myself. Keep in mind, I am conputer literate, and moderatly tech savy, but I'm a lawyer not a software programmer. Thought?

i think the typical retropie user is not a software programmer, either. it does take time, but almost everything has been done before by someone else, and documented.
even if it wasn't against the license, a pre-built retropie system is not a viable consumer product. they go wrong, and when they do no-one will/can support you. this software is a work-in-progress, and built for people who want to learn, change settings, etc, rather than those who want a emulation box that sits under the tv and 'just works' (although, with some effort, you can get close to that).
if you really want an easy to use emulation system i suggest official products like the NES/SNES classic.
