EmulationStation Scraper NOT Working
-
Is not working, my ES log report "lv10 Error - parsing xml type mismatch", scraper dnt find anything. I think the server is down.
-
The server it's not down, but due to this change, it might have inadvertently been mis-configured.
-
Well, glad to find is not me however, i was going to check all my xml's

The error was meant for the XML returned by the server, which is now obviously missing, and not about your gamelists.

Seems legit, thanks!

@mitu thank you for the input, any recommendations for how to fix this issue? Or will there be an updating coming out soon for Retropie which will solve the problem.
-
@mongo64 Since the artwork site is not working, there's little RetroPie can do/change to fix it. Use the alternate scraper for now - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Scraper/#steven-selphs-scraper.
-
Which is thousand times better than internal one. Basically every scraper are.
-
Neither scraper seems to be working for me. I guess if I have the time, I could just manually enter the metadata as I add new games. Vast majority have been scraped before the issue.
-
@gokuh306 If you use the alternate scraper, make sure you change the source of metadata/art from thegamesdb to screenscraper.
-
Any idea when it will work again?
-
It seems to work fine now, just make sure you have an up-to-date Emulationstation package.
-
@mitu The latest for me is 2.7.5. This correct?
Not working for me if so.
-
@mrjordaaany When did you last update it ?
-
@mitu Just now. Binary then restarted my Pi.
-
@mrjordaaany Hm, i'm running the dev version (on Windows), I'll try an update from source later to see if the stable version has the same problem. Thanks for testing.
-
@mitu I see, so the Raspberry Pi build may not be working yet. Thanks
-
@mrjordaaany No, I now see the change added a few months back is not in the stable branch.
@jdrassa, @pjft - do you think you could add thegamesdb redirection commit to the stable branch also ? They've completely replaced the/api
endpoint with the new API and the stable branch still looks at thethegamesdb.net
instead oflegacy.thegamesdb.net
.
I assumed it was a configuration error on their side since they did the move on the 3rd of July, but it seems it's fine. -
@mongo64 you will find that the internal scraper is very basic and barely works. I do wish they would implement a scraper that lets you choose all sorts of artworks from all sorts of places with previews etc. Something that really allows full (and easy) customization of the setup. Something that comes with ES that has a nice UI to interact with.
