MegaPiDrive MkII
-
Hello to everyone! I've been loving to see the projects everyone has been posting about their RPi's.
I had done a Raspberry Pi3 Case using a Famiclone, and I was happy for some time.
Some time ago I was offered a dead Megadrive MkII, so, being a lover of RP3 and Retropie, I set out to turn my dead Megadrive MkII into a SEGA dedicated MegaPiDrive. So far I've managed to get it working more or less, with an On/Off Switch and a Mayflash D-Sub to USB adpater so I could use the Megadrive original controllers I got offered along with the Sega MegaDrive.
I plan to add a reset button, like I did to my FamiPie.
But there are things I dont exactly know how to add to my project. I want to add a Red LED that turns on whenever the Raspberry Pi is on. I've heard it can be done through the GPIO pins, but I've already added a cooling fan, So I have no idea how to add a Reset button (not the hard Reset one that you cand get by soldering the appropriate wires on the board) and a Red LED.Also I know that hot glue can be seen on the outside and that it is unsightly... Taking care of it in the future ;)
Suggestions on how to go about doing what I wanted to do, are welcome :D I'll eagerly await ideas, or pointers on how to improve my project :)
Sorry if my english is not so good, but it's not my first language.
Cheers

Very similar to my build (including the Mayflash), although I cut some grooves in the expansion slot to add some USB ports.
I wired the reset and power button to work as well, using a coupleof trimmed microswitches and GPIO pins, think I used the 'PiGirl' script to add them easily, then set the reset button as an exit emulator option, as I just couldn't configure that with a standard Mega Drive controller.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
