      Hi, RP team...

I updated my 3.8.1 retropie_setup.shscript a few minutes ago from the option in the script itself, and I'm now looking at:

      Script Version: 4.0-dev
Last commit: 39 minutes ago (c957990)

This is on a RetroPie box created with your official image - no dev channels turned on or other hackery.

Was this maybe an unintentional merge?

      Just a heads-up.

      Cheers,

      Shmoopty

Ah, sorry for the noise, Herb. The "-dev" suffix threw me.

People asked for versions numbers, so we added them. 4.0-dev in this case just means - we are after 3.8.1 - the next snapshot will be 4.0. Anything potentially unstable is done on separate branches, and tested before merging in.

I really like the new layout. It has a very clean look and navigation is much more logical.

@mediamogul Aboslutely agree on that. I wrote a guide to installing RetroPie using the new menu layouts yesterday: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/1870/i-ve-created-a-new-retropie-manual-installation-guide-covering-the-version-4-setup-script-revised-menu-structure
