Music support based on system select
-
Hi,
I'm new to Retropie; switching over from Recalbox. I find Retropie to be far superior and so much better laid out with so many more configuration options. When I had Recalbox I used a theme called simplelight which had a sounds folder for each console and a system.ogg file within the folder. Whenever you would scroll sideways to a different console, it would play a song relative to that console. I absolutely loved this subtle touch and was excited to find a post on how to install simplelight on Retropie. Everything works great except no music plays.
I checked the theme.xml file and I see this line:
<view name="system">
<sound name="bgsound">
<path>./sounds/system.ogg</path>
</sound>I'm assuming this code isn't supported on Retropie, but is there a way for me to adjust this code to make the music work?

I have no idea if this can be done but that would be an awesome idea. We could have the famous speccy loading sounds on the spectrum games screen.

Because the themes are ES I think there must be a way and maybe the code <sound> is just different in RetroPie. That or there's just a settings in RP that overrides the sound that can be turned off. I'm really hoping a developer sees this and can provide some insight.

This is not currently supported in our emulation station.
