Can you describe what you tried that is failing? Did you transfer the necessary cheat.dat file to /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2010/?

  • @mediamogul
    I do as the following:

    1. save rom game (mame0.139) to folder : /home/pi/RetroPie/rom/arcade/mame2010/
    2. download cheat file ( for lr-mame2010 and save to: /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2010/
and cheat not show in menu tab in game. Can you help me the way you enable cheat, thanks your kind

  • i wonder lr-mame2010 has support cheat or not ????

  • Try adding these to the "opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-core-options.cfg" to enable cheats for mame2010

    mame2010-skip_disclaimer = "enabled"
    mame2010-dcs-speedhack = "enabled"
    mame2010-samples = "enabled"
    mame2010-cheats = "enabled"

You can also try the other options. It won't do any harm but may help also

  • @bktrantam said in Enable lr-mame2010 cheat:

In my experience, the cheat.dat file isn't kept in a zip or other archive file. I don't know if MAME can use it in zipped form. It may be worth a try to extract it.

  • Alss, you usually have to use the command in the RetroArch config otherwise MAME won't know to enable cheats

    mame2010-cheats = "enabled"

    for mame2003 :

    mame2003-cheats = "enabled"

Cheats are optional, so are not enabled by default

I've just checked my mame2010, the samples folder for mame2010 and the "history, dat" and "cheat.dat" are in

I had to build the current mame201o from the optional menu in RetroPie. Be warned it can take HOURS even on an overclocked PI3 and running from USB hard drive. I use the SD card purely to boot into OSMC KODI then control is passed over to the USB hard drive. Its much faster and saves wear on the SD card. I used RetroSMC script to install RetroPie onto the OSMC build, so everything runs off USB hard drive and it all works perfectly, including snapshots and gameplay videos
