MAME ROW stands for MAME Random Of the Week. We randomly select an arcade game from the 0.78 MAME Reference Set to play on the week. The idea is to play games we've never played before, interact with other forum members, post hi-scores, share game strategies, fun facts, and (the most important) HAVE FUN!
Notes:
-
We usually post hi-scores screenshots after playing with only one credit. If you used more than one credit, please mention it on your post.
-
There's no need to use RetroPie to join the MAME ROW! You can play it on any platform you want.
-
Feel free to post your hi-score (or any content about the game) anytime you want on the previous rounds topics (link below).
Every Monday we create a topic at the "General Discussion and Gaming > MAME Random Of the Week" forum section with the 3 random games to be voted. And on Wednesday we check the result.
These "rules" are constantly being improved!

Great 1000 Miles Rally is a really fun game. It gets my vote!
-
It looks like the best option overall and it'd be nice to get a racing game in MAME ROW, but it's lack of hunchbacks is troublesome. Still, you can't have it all. I believe I'll vote for 'Great 1000 Miles Rally' as well.
-
@mediamogul rumour has it that this was the tipping point for the whole hunchback unionization movement to take off.
It's a shame. Gaming hasn't really been the same since then.
-
Actually, I apologize. I played a bit of 1000 Miglia right now, and as great a game as it is, it doesn't really have a proper "high-score" table, so it can't really be used for MAME ROW. There's a per-track "best times" table, but I don't think it's really great for this purpose. Sorry about misdirecting people here.
Still, it's a really fun game and people should at least try it out.
@mediamogul I suspect the hunchbacks really were onto something.

I'm at tears from laughing... Too funny!

No problem. It is a shame though. That looked great. I might play it a bit later this evening.

To try to get things close to back on schedule, but still be fair, I'll be closing the voting at 5 PM Eastern (UTC - 4) today.

This week's winner is Great 1000 Miles Rally
-
@obsidianspider as I mentioned, and apologies if I should perhaps have re-voted, this game doesn't really have a high score table.
I'm happy to go for Hunchback Olympics instead, or we can play a single credit from the first stage and compare the stages we can reach in that single credit, though that's really that.
Let me know.

It sounds like both of our votes would've gone to 'Hunchback Olympic', so we might as well take it as read to submit those scores. Although, in full disclosure, I've been covered up with work and probably won't have time to play outside of the odd game of 'Dr. Mario' to keep my sanity.
-
Sorry, I'm on holiday this week (without a raspberry pi or any other gaming device), so unfortunately haven't been able to try any of these. Racing one looks decent though.
-
Man, it's almost like I've said multiple times that people need to actually vote and participate in these things :-P
-
@obsidianspider you said what...? No, never! :P
I'll play the Great 1000 Miles Rally and will see if I have the Hunchback Olympics ROM somewhere as well, and report on that. :)
It's end of August, some are on vacations, some are just coming back, so I empathize. I came back Wednesday but will be traveling for work on the weekend, so I'll do my best :)
-
Ok all, I'm terribly sorry. I'll be flying out today and since I didn't have Olympic Hunchback on my Arcade list I ended up not having a chance to play that. Apologies.
As for The Great 1000 Miles Rally, what would be the best way to report a score on that one given that it has no high-score table or scores of sorts? Are we reporting the stage we get to on a single credit?
