Retropie 4.4, B+, I downloaded the SD card image and did all the building myself.

My wife very thoughtfully purchased me this controller as a surprise. Based on her recent behaviors, I think she bought it not for me but for her, as she's been asking to play some Retropie games lately. Anyway, here it is...

      https://www.amazon.com/NEXiLUX-Wireless-Controller-Gamepad-Nintendo/dp/B018IZLF66/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1535857756&sr=8-4&keywords=controller+pro+u

I am having a very difficult time getting it paired. On the paring menu, I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to be looking for, I mean as far as the controller identifying itself in the list of found devices. So, I'm not even sure if my Pi is finding it or not.

I ask here because the Amazon reviews mention others have been successful getting this to work on a Pi. My googling has been unsuccessful. Plenty of advice how to get this paired to a Wii U, but zero information (that I could find) that would translate to getting it paired with the Pi. I was hoping someone around here could give me the secret.

      Thanks in advance.

@amishgamer Once the controller is in pairing mode - it should have a button combination to put it in pairing mode - you should follow the standard Bluetooth pairing process described in https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Bluetooth-Controller. You should find your device listed - name and address and then just select it to complete the pairing. There's not much to do for a BT controller, it might not work on the 1st try, but you can keep using the 'Register and and Connect..' menu option until the controller appears in the list.

@mitu Right. But, there's apparently several BT devices in my household, and I was hoping someone else with this controller could tell me what it's called in the list since the manual was not at all enlightening in this area.

Well, I gave up on this and sent the controller back to Amazon. I then took my wife to Gamestop to buy a second Wii U Pro Controller, which is, by far, the best and most reliable controller for Retropie (that I've experienced, anyway).
