      Hi all,

Even in Child (Kiosk) mode, I have a menu when I click on the Start button. Ok, this menu is minimalist (only Volume and Quit) but for my application this is too much. I would like no menu at all when somebody clicks on Start.

Is is possible to do that ?

      Thanks very much.
      Joe.

@joecool In Kiosk mode you have access to the Start menu, but in Kids mode there is no Start menu. What version of Emulationstation are you running ?

@mitu My ES version is v2.7.6rp (see in the es_log.txt file). When I try to switch to the KID mode, the ES doesn't want to launch it "The selected UI ha nothing to show".

Maybe I have to install it. I will try.
[Edit]There is no Kids package to install (emulationstation-kids[/Edit]

Is the KID mode as stable as the KIOSK one ?

          Thanks.

You need to select some games and tag them with 'Kid = yes' so the UI has something to show.

@mitu Ok, That's right ! I just tried the KID mode, but the problem is that there is always the Menu (Volume and Quit) if I click on Start. Is there a possbility to remove completly it ?

@joecool I see. I'm running the emulationstation-dev (latest ES) and there is no input the the Start button. You can install this version or just wait for the stable version to get this feature.

@mitu Oki. If I install the emulationstation-dev, it will be use instead of the actuel one, right ?
And if I desinstall it, all will be restored ?

                    Yes

I'm not sure if that will do it, but I think re-installing the normal emulationstation package will get you back the old version (the one you have now).
