Alsa error message
-
Hi all,
I have this message when I launch a game (exemple Mame) and when I quit it.
The sound works perfectly.http://zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=18/36/53xg.jpg
Could you help me avoid it ?
Thanks a lot and really sorry for my multiple questions but I would like my box to be perfect...!

@joecool It's old but see if this post helps you :

@thedatacereal Thanks. I will see that. The problem is that I use the Retropie 4.4 and the new ES 2.8.0 (Pi3B+). Sometime I have the impression that my Alsa pb exists since ES 2.8.0...
I'm going to retry with 2.7 and check with Pi3B too. I tell you what ^^ ! -
My returns:
With Pi3B+ and ES 2.8.0: problem: ALSA message.
With Pi3B and ES 2.8.0: same problem: ALSA message.
With Pi3B and ES 2.8.0 after apt-get update & upgrade: same problem: ALSA message.
Back to ES 2.7.6 no more ALSA message.Time to track the problem now !! Any idea guys ?

Use the stable ES version - 2.7rp. 2.8.0 is the development version which is, well, under constant development.
Can you attach the~/.emulationstation/es_log.txt
file to pastebin.com so we can take a look ? -
@mitu No problem but if I use the 2.8.0 it's because I don't want any MAIN MENU in KID mode (it displays Volume and Quit) on my machine. I don't want, for example, that a player should shutdown my machine.
My es_log.txt file: http://dl.free.fr/kXrqeu9ec
I'm going to see this file too. Thanks for your time.

Parcouring the es_settings.cfg file, I'm going to see the hideQuitMenuOnKidUI parameter.
Although it is true, the Quit Menu is still visible. Is it normal ?

Hey hey, maybe, I have found the solution: In the MAIN MENU / SOUND SETTINGS / AUDIO CARD, I selected <DEFAULT> because the entry was null <>. Just below, in the AUDIO DEVICE, I selected <PCM>.
With this config, the error message disapeared. My config is: sound via a HDMI/VGA convertor, jack to mini-amplificator (RCA).
Great, no ?
