      Pi3b, 2.1A aftermarket power supply
      Retropie 4.3
      Pre made SD Image: retropie-4.3-rpi2_rpi3.img
      1 USB wireless bluetooth keyboard
      2 identical Arcade DragonRise USB joysticks
      lr-Mame 2003 (0.78) and 2010

      The Tab Menu pops up whenever Button 1 is pressed on either controller. In other versions of Mame it can be disabled in the Tab Menu by selecting Input (General) > Config Menu and long-pressing the Tab key.
      In Mame 2010 however, even though I have assigned only the Tab key, Button 1 of each controller also brings up the tab menu.
      I have deleted the config file too, but the problem remains.
      Is there another place that Button 1 is configured to bring up the config menu?
      Thanks very much.

        So no one has anything to say about how to stop Button 1 from bringing up the Tab menu?

          I Think that the board being used for the controller is a keyboard encoder. It is using "tab" for button 1. you may want to change the button mapping for the tab menu in MAME to something like "~" see if that solves your problem.

            @Pepper
            Thanks for that, makes sense now and problem solved mapping to a key that was not shared with the controller.
