Hello, I've had some issues with my 8bitdo FC30 pro controller while playing with bluetooth and I don't know quite why. From time to time, could be hours, could be 15 minutes, the controller just gets stuck (like following the last d-pad direction pressed) and stops working completely. After some seconds like that, it gets disconnected even with the controller still on trying to connect. I've managed to make it reconnect faster by changing the bluetooth to background, but the problem is still a issue because it still takes several seconds for it to get disconnected and connect again.

Anyone fixed a similar issue? I've found some advice to disable wifi but I don't want to because my setup needs it right now.

I've just made a lot of more tests and it seems to disconnect more frequently as the battery from the pad discharges. It still doesn't disconnects at all at any other PC and when the battery gets really low it starts getting higher delays, but on retropie it just gets stucks and disconnects.

Anyone having more luck with it?

I went through the FC30 stage, and ultimately moved on to Xbox One bluetooth controllers due to them being a little easier on my carpal tunnel. I had horrible problems with bluetooth disconnects on both, until I purchased/installed a USB Bluetooth adapter. Now, I have no problems at all. You'd be surprised how much this helps.

Might want to check out my advice here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/19950/xbox-one-blue-tooth-joy-pad-connection-problem/3

I believe you should only need to follow items 4 and 5 as the other instructions are Xbox One bluetooth specific. (Basically - Buy/install the adapter, disable onboard bluetooth, re-pair your joysticks/edit any additional configs items)
