Mame4all Speeding Up With Left Button Joystick
-
Upon starting from scratch on one of my Pi Zeros, the first to be brought into the world of Stretch, I was performing the manual bindings on Mame4all. Whenever I try to play a game, if I press
left
on either iBuffalo controller, it immediately speeds to game up to an unplayable speed and it stays that way until I exit the game.Anyone ever encountered this? I looked at other bindings in the TAB menu but nothing else is bound to the
left
binding except the menu navigation is set to player one's U/L/R/D. I'm kind of scratching my head on this one because it's the first time I've had this happen with mame4all.EDIT:
It seems multiple buttons, but not all, flash the frameskip overlay and they numbers just go crazy, too fast to see and any game in Mame4all speeds up once one of those buttons is pressed.

I tried deleting the configs, removing and reinstalling Mame4all and rebooting but the issue persists. It didn't do it with Contra but did do it with dig dug, and donkey Kong.
It's multiple buttons and some buttons do other things almost like there's a preconfigured binding overlaying the emaulator bindings I set. Even if I delete the config and generate a new one, pressing buttons on the controller still causes the speed up and toggles other options like FPS overlays.

Did you ever find a solution? I am having the exact same problem with my freshly installed zero.

I am not sure if you are still having the same issue, but I was experiencing the same thing after the latest update. I was able to fix the issue in the input settings by setting throttle, frameskip dec, and frameskip inc to ‘none’ (which can be achieved by hitting esc). For some reason when hit joystick directions I was randomly registering F## keyboard presses as well. I noticed this when binding some other controls. Not sure why, but those options above are tied to f8, f9, and f10 and seemed to be causing the problem.
I hope this helps.
