      Hello everyone,

      I have a couple Pis that I enjoy very much, but I also have a fairly new Intel NUC which uses a 64 bit PC processor. I have tried Launchbox for Windows, Lakka, and Recalbox on it. I haven't been satisfied with any of those options and always just end up playing on my 3B+ (not that it's a bad thing to do that.)

      I know I could install RetroPie on the NUC via an Ubuntu install but the guide says that version remains 32 bit, so I refrained from using that option. I'm pretty sure the most common emulators are only 32 bit programs anyway, so what would I really be missing if I do this? How is the quality of the Retropie experience on modern high powered (relatively) PC hardware?

      The main thing I am looking to do is reduce input lag which the NUC has the power to do easily. I'm just curious about the what others think before I remove Windows from my NUC.

        @Beldar RetroPie works on both x86 (32bit) and x86_64 (64bit).

          @BuZz Thank you very much for the reply. I figured it would work as 32bit software generally works in a 64bit environment. I guess I was really just posting because I wanted to know of there were any particular omissions.

          However, I needn't have worried. I installed ububtu and retropie on my NUC today. With the instructions on the Retropie site it couldn't have been easier. I am extremely pleased with the result. The increased power let's me use run ahead and disable video threading. I still love my Pi's though, and they will definitely see use.
