So I'm trying to back up my retropie SD Card...
-
I'm using Win32Disc Imager, I understand all that, but here's my question...
When I put my SD card in my computer, it doesn't show me one drive, it shows me two. One is a drive in a format windows keeps asking to reformat ( G: ) and the other is a formatted drive called F:\boot
Which one am I backing up? Is it both? I'm wanting to move from my SD card to a larger one, so which bits do I need?

@Dalrint Ignore the partition details, you need the whole disk with those partitions backed up. Win32DiskImager should pick it up and create a single .img for the card.

So I tried it without worrying about it, yeah. And it did indeed do that! Awesome.
Thanks. :D

Windows can't read the Linux file system on the second partition, because of Microsoft's worldview of "there are no other systems next to ours". That said, asking to format an unknown partition goes beyond bad manners in my opinion, as it can cause serious data loss for the user.

Did you expand the filesystem to the bigger SD card after the migration? If not, see these instructions how to do it.
