Hi I'm having a nightmare removing the overlays from retropie. I have searched, but can't find anyone else having the same issue. I have tried turning off overlays in on screen display in retroarch
I've done save core overrides, but it doesn't make the changes for every game.

In retropie configuration - configure basic libretro emulator options - configure default options for all emulators - overlay enable (false). Still doesn't work.

The problem is the overlays cover the actual game screen. It's like they were designed for a widescreen monitor where's I'm using a 5:4 aspect ratio

It is driving me mad, because I think I have switched them off. It's like the changes I'm making are being overridden by another setting that I'm unaware of.

Thank you in advance to anyone that can help with this issue in any way.

That's easy - download the image from retropie.org.uk/download and install it. We don't support 3rd party images - like the one you seem to have installed.
