Amiberry speed problems

Searched for this topic, didn't find anything recent, let alone useful; quite a few games run just right, but there's game Barbarian II - Axe of Rage by Palace that is just too fast. The game has a rather shitty control scheme; down is turn around with a slow as molasses jump, and down and fire button is kneel down and make a low attack; especially at the speed the game is going, way to ease to make the jump, rather than the low attack. Worse, the enemies respawn, and they now respawn way too quickly; it's difficult to get off of the screen before it comes back.
Is there a way to slow games down in Amiberry?
