Hi all, having real trouble with my device which I ordered online it came preloaded with retropie and 2 PS3 controllers but neither of the controllers work in any of the games they only work on the main menu, any one any ideas? I’ve tried wiping the controllers off and only configured one of them but still no joy, any help would be greatly appreciated.

@David-Taylor87 than the one who created this preloaded image did a very bad job.

There will be no help here, 3-rd party Images are not supported.
You should ask the seller what the hell he was thinking to offer a gaming system without working controller setups.

@sirhenrythe5th worth trying to see if I can wipe the device and start from scratch? It is a cowboy site selling them by the sounds of it I’ve been done! Just trying to salvage what I can from it

@David-Taylor87 Sure, just download the image from retropie.org.uk/download and that will get your started. The docs have that documented - and with video - and the Getting Started section should guide your through configuring the system once you got it installed.

@David-Taylor87 download the official image for your Device, put the SD-Card in a PC and write the image using a program like "Win32 Disk-Imager".
The content of the card will be overwritten and you will have a clean image as result.

@sirhenrythe5th I'd recommend etcher over win32diskimager. Doesnt require extraction

@herb_fargus thanks Herb, i will try that next time i have to use a downloaded package.
I had to do that twice over the years, once with the Initial setup (Retropie 3.3) and this year when stretch was released with 4.4.0.
Usually i just make updates over the retropie setup.

                      Thanks and a nice weekend!
