@Ateist Did you follow this guide from their website:
Power on your computer and insert the USB receiver. Power on the controller, the 1 (or 2) red led light, keep press the home button and it will change between 1 led and 2 led.
Now please press home button 5-10 seconds, and it will keep 1 led light no matter how many times you press home button, that means it has changed to PC mode.
Enter the game and set up controller, wait for several minutes if the controller has no response, or unplug the USB receiver and replug it.
Repeat "unplug the USB receiver and replug it" if the controller still has no response.
This suggests an unreliable controller in my opinion and one unlikely to work very easily with a pi.

@rbaker On pc, the gamepad works well.I connected exactly RF receiver powered 5v2a mode switching did not work out. I downloaded the image from your retropie 4.4 site or should I try an earlier version?
-
@Ateist 2A is not sufficient to power a Pi properly. How do you know that the usb device is compatible with the os that Retropie is built on?
-
@Ateist And what do you get when you run jstest? Type:
jstest /dev/input/js0
-
@rbaker jstest /dev/input/js0
Driver version is 2.1.0.
Joystick (ShanWan PC/PS3/Android) has 6 axes (X, Y, Z, Rz, Hat0X, Hat0Y)
and 13 buttons (BtnA, BtnB, BtnC, BtnX, BtnY, BtnZ, BtnTL, BtnTR, BtnTL2, BtnTR2, BtnSelect, BtnStart, BtnMode).
Driver version is 2.1.0.
Joystick (Microsoft X-Box 360 pad) has 8 axes (X, Y, Z, Rx, Ry, Rz, Hat0X, Hat0Y)
and 11 buttons (BtnA, BtnB, BtnX, BtnY, BtnTL, BtnTR, BtnSelect, BtnStart, BtnMode, BtnThumbL, BtnThumbR).
Testing ... (interrupt to exit) -
@Ateist Your output shows 2 different devices - a ShanWan PS3 clone and a MS X-Box 360 gamepad. Did you installed the
xboxdrv
driver ? Remove it and re-try. -
@mitu
pi@retropie:~ $ jstest /dev/input/js0
jstest: No such file or directory -
@Ateist This means there's not connected controller to be detected.
-
@mitu gamepad connected to raspberry
This is my problem the system does not see the gamepad -
In order for the gamepad to be detected and configured by Emulationstation - and the other emulators - it must be detected as a gamepad by the OS. If the OS (Raspbian) doesn't see it as a gamepad, it means it's not compatible with Linux, so there's nothing to configure. I advise you to try another controller - if you bought this one specifically for RetroPie, then you should return it and get a better supported controller.
