only shows picture when HDMI is connected at startup?
-
hi @ all,
why is it that I only get a picture when I FIRST turn on the TV and then power on the Pi?
In other order (first PI then TV) there is only a black screen. so the pi misses HDMI setup when the TV is turned on too late?
or am I missing something here?best wishes!

It's normal - for some TVs - https://kodi.wiki/view/Raspberry_Pi_FAQ#TV_is_not_detected_unless_powered_on_first.

ok, good to know. so "hdmi_edid_file=1 and hdmi_force_hotplug=1"
and copying that edid file will fix it for every TV? -
@naddel81 try plugging in the hdmi cable the other way, it worked for me.

@naddel81 You can give it a try and see if it works.

Thanks for the link @mitu! This happened to me too once. I had to unplug the pi as got no display on my TV (luckily my SD card survived the ordeal!). Great to know there is a solution (other than just remembering to turn on my TV first).
