Can't get Intellivision working
-
I've got the exec and grom files tried versons from more than one source... I've tried them in the BIOS folder as well as the Intellivision ROM folders. I've tried different emulators. I can't get it running. Anyone have an idea what the problem could be? My RetroPie is running version 4.4
-
@Bread-And-Roses I'd be glad to help you figure it out. Can you first post the info requested here? https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

@Bread-And-Roses A copy of the
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
would be useful - taken after attempting to launch the ROM file. -
Hmmmm...... can you point me there? I see only bios, roms, config, and splashscreen folders. I'm not SUPER techy.
-
@Bread-And-Roses You'd need WinSCP to get there, the file is not accessible via file shares. Once you enable SSH, WinSCP will show you all the files in the system - including the log file I mentioned.
-
@Bread-And-Roses here is info on enabling ssh https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/SSH
-
Okay, I'm trying to get this to work, but when WinSCP asks for my username during the "prompting for credentals" connection phase, I can't seem to figure that out. =/
-
@Bread-And-Roses It's
pi
- are you not able to enter it ? -
"No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
Connection failed." error -
@Bread-And-Roses
username: pi
password: raspberry^this is what you are typing? And to confirm you did enable ssh before attempting to use winscp correct?
-
Ah, got it. Didn't enable ssh,

@Bread-And-Roses mitu will be able to confirm but it looks like your exec.bin bios is no good.
-
Yeah.... I've tried it from a few sources. Is it hard to get hands on a good exec.bin file?
-
@Bread-And-Roses it's been a while since I set up intellivision but if I remember correctly I did have to search a bit to find bios that we're functional.
-
You need the correct exec.bin. The one I know works is
exec.bin - 8kb in size
CRC = CBCE86F7 -
That's the one I'm using. :/
-
is it in the right location?
-
@Bread-And-Roses can you confirm that its exec.bin and not EXEC.bin? Case matters.
-
Lowercase, in the BIOS folder.
[EDIT: actually, it was Exec.bin.... for some damn reason the first letter was capitalized and even as I replaced it with other versions all in lowercase, it kept the first letter capitalized. I deleted and replaced it with an all lowercase exec.bin and it works now! Thanks so much!]
