Help for resizing the ES welcome screen in retropie on top of ubuntu 18.04
-
Hello,
I apologize for my english because I'm french.
Ubuntu is installed on an eeepc 701 and its resolution is 800x480 but I've upscaled it to 1024x600 with the xrandr command.
Unfortunately, the resolution stayed on 800x480 for emulationstation and the welcome screen (where we choose the systems and the games).
Where can I change this resolution ?
Thanks -
@antoine8168 Normally Emulationstation starts in fullscreen. Are you changing the resolution after your desktop has started ?
-
@mitu ES starts in full-screen mode but I have a horizontal black bar on top and a vertical black bar on the right.
There were no bars before I made the upscaling permanent. -
How did you do the upscaling 'permanent' ? Did you configure the X.org server to this resolution or are you just running
xrandr
during the session startup ? -
I've created the file /etc/X11/Xsession.d/45x11-xrandr with the admin rights :
sudo touch /etc/X11/Xsession.d/45x11-xrandr
Then :
sudo nano /etc/X11/Xsession.d/45x11-xrandr
In this file, I wrote :
xrandr --verbose --output LVDS1 --mode "800x480" --scale "1.28x1.25" --panning "1024x600"
I don't remember if I made "sudo nano" or just "nano"
Thank you for your help

@antoine8168 So it's not changing the resolution, just scaling the output. Maybe the the X.org server doesn't know how to scale the ES window, since it's an OpenGL application.
