New 16:9 1080p overlays
-
@nono6493 I've created about 35 overlays that adhere to all rules, with the exception of a standard border, and would be happy to contribute if you're interested. Most are modifications of @UDb23's work that remove top and bottom borders to allow for full screen games. A few are originals based on arcade bezel scans. Here are a couple of examples...
-
@ts-x , nice. I like them very much. I will post new ones this week end. I can add yours in the repository.
-
@nono6493 Sounds great, thanks. The Mousetrap overlay above is for the arcade version, the Wizard of Wor overlay is for the Atari 2600. Most of the overlay's I've done are for MAME games, but there are a handful of Atari 2600 & 7800 overlays mixed in as well. What's the best way to submit the others?
-
@ts-x, if you have a free github account, the easyest his to add you as contributor. You will be able to upload your overlays directly in the repository.
About Mouse Trap, I have done an alternate version of your overlay with the border and without coins to keep the "unified" aspect. If you're ok, I will upload both : mine and yours. -
Here are some new overlays. I hope you will like them. They are available with cfg files in the github repository.
Bubble Bobble:
Double Dragon:
Rygar:
More to come soon, so stay tuned.

@nono6493 I just added five overlays, including my original version of the two above via github. It's my first time working with github so please feel free to override anything I've done incorrectly! Definitely okay to remove the coins and make any other changes as necessary.
-
@ts-x, you have created a fork (a copy) of the repository. Doing that, you have created your own project and you will be able to add you own overlay, but you will not get the new ones that i will publish. You can do like that, but it also means that there will be two repositories.
I have added an invitation on my project for you. If you go on the project page, you should see it and should be able to accept it. Then, you will be able to upload your files directly.
Tell me if you need help or if you prefer to maintain your own project. -
@nono6493 Thank you for the pointers, I believe I've gotten everything straightened out (deleted my inadvertent fork as well). Just added several overlays and will add more next week. Just as an FYI, here's a list of others I've completed but have not yet added to your repository... Donkey Kong Jr., Frogger, Galaga, Joust, Jr. Pac-Man, Klax, Marble Madness, Millipede, Missile Command, Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man, Phoenix, Stargate, Space Invaders & Space Invaders Part 2.

This is a new set of overlays from my collection. You can dowload directly from here, or with the config files from the repository.

@nono6493 Okay, everything I have with the exception of Donkey Kong Jr. is in. I'm still finishing that one up...should be ready within a week or so. Thanks again for organizing this, it's a great resource.

Are these overlays in meleu's rpie-art.sh script?
https://github.com/meleu/rpie-art -
@backstander, they are not yet. When I will have a little bit more time I will look how to add them. I will tell you as soon as they will be. Thank you for your patience.
-
Here is the new set of the week. As every time, they can be downloaded from here or from my git repository.
As @backstander requested, I will look soon if it is possible to add the collection to @meleu's rpie-art.sh script. The three overlays are common. For Armored Car, I just wanted to try to do my own. For Ghosts'n Goblins and Ghouls'n Ghosts, I have used the best source material I was able to find. I hope the result is good enougth to make you forget the others versions. So here are the overlays:
Armored Car:
Ghosts'n Goblins:
Ghouls'n Ghosts:
I am still working on new small things, so stay tuned.
-
@nono6493 you're very welcome to use rpie-art to provide an easy access to your art. Check the "How can I make the script able to install my custom art?" part of the README file and you'll see it's very simple.
Nice images, by the way! :)

That's time to publish my new set of overlays. I try to keep a weekly rythm, but this time it was not easy. No time to work on them so I have done easy and very basic. So here are 3 new overlays from Sega games. I will do better next time.
Oh, I do not forget @meleu's script. I will try to do everything inside the repository to make it compatible as soon as possible.
Alien Storm
Shinobi
Shadow Dancer
Now, I go back to my works on some new ones. See you soon.

Sorry for the late delivery, but some of those overlays took me more time than expected. As usual, they are downloadable here, in the github repository and ... ... no, not now, sorry.
So this week, an old shoot'em up set with Cosmic Guerilla, Devil Zone and one of my favorites : Gyruss.
Devil Zone:
Cosmic Guerilla:
Gyruss:
Now, you knows what I will do next week ? Not me. So stay tuned.

Could they create this? One of my favorite games of all time

@ande-rocha I like this game too. I have played on Amiga when I was young, and I have played to Badlands and Super Sprint on Arcade too. I think I will not do an overlay from scratch because it would be too long and I have already a long list to do. But if I can find some good material to start with, probably I will do something.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
