Street Fighter 1 not responsive to MAME or FBA

I have a MAME ROM of SF!. It is the only one I have found that will runat all on my retropi. However it is unresponsive to the 2 different controllers I am using ( an Xbox 360 and a Buffalo Gamepad. Any suggestions?

Do the controllers work in other ROMs/games or does the same happen for all the other ROMs ? -
@mitu It is a RasPi 3. They work for every other game except that one. I have had a real hard time getting any MAME roms to work. Airwolf is all alone...lol

What did you expect ? Considering you are unclear on what emulator you are using, and you picked roms on internet at random ("It is the only one I have found"), it's pretty obvious you didn't read the arcade documentation about romsets.
As far as i'm concerned, with the right romset this game works properly in lr-fbalpha.
