Need help getting multiple controllers to work on specific emulators p1/p2
-
Im currently building a standing arcade machine but I have an idea of adding additional port slots to my pi 3 So I can add controllers for Nintendo (NES), Super Nintendo (SNES), Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64 (N64), Playstation 2 (PS2) x2 for p1 and p2 but I’d like to somehow program those controllers to their specified emulators or possible have them all ready to use for p1/p2

@JustTooChewy You can use @meleu joystick tool selection to configure the order of gamepads in Libretro based emulators , so you can use them as P1/2. Note that PS2 is not an emulation option on a Pi3 and for N64 you'll have to manually adjust the configuration file (as explained in the docs) since the recommended emulator (Mupen64plus) is not a Libretro core.

@mitu could you send me some more info on the n64 configurations? And does using the tool mean I could have say 8 controllers and 2 joysticks with button combinations simultaneously plugged into the pie but have half the controllers set to player 1 and the other half and joystick to specifically player 2?
And the I had seen that it’s possible to emulate some ps1 games and I figured I enjoy the ps2 controllers a little better -

If's in the documentation - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Nintendo-64/.
