It's just the quick-menu that doesn't work ? What changes / actions did you do before this started to happen ? Please add more info about your system - as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

It is the quickmenu... but if i try to set hotkeys in the main retroarch "app" it only affects my other emulators .. not the snes one :/
i ve messed up my key in the quickmenu of the snes core :/ cant reset it... i am totaly out of ideas

sadly i ve nearly given up and i am really just not sure if i should reflash my image.
i am on the new retropie version
my raspberry is powerd via the official power supply
          and i use a controller :) xbox

Looks like you've enabled 'Save Configuration on Exit' in RetroArch or you used 'Save configuration' from the RGUI. That's not really recommended - you should use the Core input remapping feature to change your gamepad mappings.
If you've just started, then re-flash your sd card and start from scratch, it will be easier than clearing up the configuration files for RetroARch.

Restore the global retroarch.cfg and each system's retroarch.cfg file and you should be starting from a clean configuration w.r.t. RetroArch. More details about the configuration files used by RA in RetroPie - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#config-hierarchy.
